Filigrane volgt het verhaal van een familie van 3 gebreide poppen, Amina, Sana en Maess, wier liefde voor elkaar hen in staat stelt elkaars wonden te herstellen met ieders eigen draden.

Maar wat doet Sana wanneer Amina onherstelbaar ziek wordt en overlijdt. hoe overwint Sana haar verdriet te overwinnen en kan ze zich ook dan met haar moeder verbinden. Zou ze daar ook in slagen?

Filigrane is een stop-motion animatiefilm die gebruik maakt van de tactiele wereld van haken, breien en textiel om dit verhaal over kinderlijke/moederlijke liefde, verdriet en verbinding met een geliefde achter de sluier te illustreren.

Filigrane follows the story of a filial family of 3 knitted dolls, Amina, Sana and Maess, whose love for one another enables them to repair each other’s wounds with each one’s own threads.

But when Amina falls irreparably ill, and passes away, what would her daughter Sana do to try to overcome her grief and to connect with her, and would she succeed?

Filigrane is a stop-motion animated movie using the tactile world of crochet, knitting and textile to illustrate this story about filial/maternal love, grief and connection with a loved one behind the veil.
