An intimate autobiographical documentary.

A granddaughter makes a film for her grandfather during the first year of her grandmother’s death. Aware that one day he too will pass away, she uses the camera as a bridge between two mourning processes. The film takes on the aesthetic and structure of a sketchbook. Fragmented thoughts, pencil drawings and interwoven text in Spanish and Dutch come into contact with one another as the pages/recordings are turned. Across current filming, archival footage and superimposed sketches we enter a visual world that is as naïf as it is mature.
