Steven keert na enkele jaren terug in het leven van de jonge Oscar en diens moeder Josephine. Man en kind zoeken elkaar fysiek op maar stoten elkaar al evenzeer af.

Een korte fictiefilm die vertrok vanuit een zoektocht om choreografie en film samen te brengen.

Lukas Dhont studeerde af in 2014 met L’Infini, nadat hij ook al met zijn bachelorfilm Corps Perdu de relatie verkende tussen lijfelijkheid, beweging en cinema. Hij zette dat onderzoek verder in zijn langspeeldebuut Girl (2018) dat de ervaringen van een transmeisje verkent terwijl ze traint om ballerina te worden.

Girl won een hele reeks prestigieuze prijzen en festivalselecties, onder andere de Camera d’Or, de FIPRESCI prijs en de Queer Palm op het Cannes filmfestival (2018), en de European Discovery prijs op de European Film Awards (2019). De film werd genomineerd als Belgische inzending voor de Academy Awards – Best Foreign Language Film in 2019.

Lukas Dhont graduated in 2014 with L’Infini after a successful run with his bachelor film Corps Perdu (2012) that also explored a relationship between cinema and physicality, e.g. in ballet. He continued the quest in his feature-length debut Girl (2018), the experiences of a trans girl pursuing a dance career as a ballerina.

Girl won a cascade of international prizes, most notably the Camera d’Or-award as well as the FIPRESCI Prize and the Queer Palm in Cannes Film Festival (2018), and the European Discovery prize at the European Film Awards (2018). The film was nominated to compete as Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards (2019).
